Sönke Busch (b. 1980, Bremen) is a freelance artist, author, and speaker known for his bold fusion of literature, performance, and social commentary. Having lived and worked across Amsterdam, Berlin, Monastir, and Honolulu, he now moves between Bremen, Amsterdam, and Vancouver.

Busch first gained national recognition in 2012 with Germany’s Federal Entrepreneur Award for his creative and socially charged work. His acclaimed radio story cycle Bombs on Utopia and public performance The Plan – The Loudest Speech in the World established him as a distinctive voice in contemporary art and activism.

A recipient of the Grimme Online Award (2019) for Unity and Rap and Freedom, Busch continues to explore themes of rebellion, unity, and human expression through multimedia storytelling. His latest book, The Opposite of Work (2024), reflects his ongoing dialogue between art and social discourse.

His works have been featured in Spiegel Magazin, ARD, NDR, and various international media outlets.

Sönke Busch lives and works independently — and unapologetically — between Europe and North America.
